(ME EN 3200 & 3210)

⚠ (:youtube csz1PTC9TAQ loop=1 fs=1 scale=1.1:) This is the 2011 RoboBall competition, which was the culmination of the year-long Mechatronics course sequence in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah. Teams of students designed, built, and programmed teleoperated robots, as well as their custom human-input devices, to play a basketball-inspired game. The robot and human-input device each contain an Arduino microcontroller, which communicate wirelessly using XBee modules. 34 teams competed in the competition. A 32-team single-elimination bracket was used in the competition. 30 teams qualified based on precompetition testing. This video begins with two preliminary matches to choose the final two teams to compete in the 32-team bracket. The main competition follows.
