This is the 2011 RoboBall competition, which was the culmination of the year-long Mechatronics course sequence in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah. Teams of students designed, built, and programmed teleoperated robots, as well as their custom human-input devices, to play a basketball-inspired game. The robot and human-input device each contain an Arduino microcontroller, which communicate wirelessly using XBee modules. 34 teams competed in the competition. A 32-team single-elimination bracket was used in the competition. 30 teams qualified based on precompetition testing.
